The Cassia Anointing

Blog In Audio:

Greetings,

If you examine the ingredients of the anointing oil in the Old Testament you will find that there were five ingredients in the oil (Ex. 30:23-25).  One ingredient was myrrh. Myrrh was burial oil and I believe that it speaks of the testimony of death and resurrection in Christ. We all died in Christ so that we can also live in Him. The anointing of Christ enables us to exchange living according to the life of the flesh for living according to the life of the Spirit. We only lose our lives, so we can find our true life in Christ.

A second ingredient was cinnamon, and I believe that cinnamon speaks of intimacy, love, life and joy (Song. 4:13). It is a testimony of intimacy, love, and life found in Christ. It is symbolic of an awakening of our hearts to be loved by God and to know His manifest presence near to us in all things.

A third ingredient was cassia. Cassia was a type of cinnamon that acted as an ex-lax and held healing properties. I believe that this is the part of the anointing oil that removes the issues of the past and heals the wounded places of our lives.

A fourth ingredient was olive oil and olive oil is significant to the prophetic testimony of the anointing oil. It is a symbol of the prophetic life of God as the one who speaks and life happens. It is what gives the oil its fatness.

The final ingredient of the anointing oil was sweet cane. I believe that sweet cane is a testimony to authority. It is a cane and is thus a measuring rod and a testimony of rule. That cane was sweet and thus it testifies of a rule that brings life. Sugar brightens the eyes and gives life energy. Authority is like the sweet cane in the anointing oil. It brings life and release to those who receive its influence.

In the 1960’s and 70’s, God released a desire to lose our lives in Christ and become the testimony of the body of Christ. Like the oil of myrrh, we found that losing our lives and living in Christ was true life. The 1980’s brought about a fresh resurgence of the olive oil in Christ’s anointing and there was a restoration of the prophetic testimony of Jesus in the midst of His church. The 1990’s were a testimony of the cinnamon in Christ’s anointing. The church experienced the manifest presence of the Spirit of God in a powerful way. Laughter, liberty, and life were seen in our gatherings together as the body of Christ.

At the turn of the millennium, God spoke to me that in the present move of God’s Spirit, there would be a release of the cassia oil in the church. There is also coming a fresh release of the sweet cane of life-giving authority, but I believe we are presently in the midst of the anointing of the cassia oil.

I believe that Cassia oil is a testimony of intimacy with God that brings healing and deliverance. It is also a type of cinnamon, so it prophetically depicts being loved by God and loving God. It awakens our hearts to God’s love in a deep way and it inspires us to love Him, both in heaven and in the many members of His body upon the earth.

Cassia oil contains properties and act as a laxative. It has a health benefit for treating constipation. It is also used to aid in bringing healing to various diseases such as respiratory, digestive, and gynecological ailments. Benefits include:

  • Breathing, digestion, reproduction, bowel movement
  • Stimulates the blood flow to the joints by strengthening the circulatory system
  • Used to reduce swelling, rashes, and joint pain
  • Treatment of arthritis, possessing anti-inflammatory and antirheumatic properties
  • Brings calmness, relieving stress and anxiety

The anointing of God breaks the assignments of the enemy against your ability to breath, your ability to digest food, your ability to reproduce, and your ability to get rid of unusable materials lodged within you. Those unusable materials even prove to be poisonous to your body if left within you. Cassia will free you from the things stuck in your life from the past and give health to your body for the present for new life and liberty in your life. God’s cassia anointing breaks the assignments of the enemy that affect the circulation of our body that limits your mobility and flexibility. This anointing of God also contains comforting and calming properties that relieve stress and anxiety.

I believe that we are in the midst of a move of God’s Spirit, and within this move is the fresh anointing of the cassia oil. Is it surprising that the presently apparent assignments of the enemy appear to be things that require the anointing of the cassia oil? God wants to heal our identities and empower us to be loved by Him in the uniqueness of who we are individually and who we are together as the body of Christ.
