A Wisdom From God

Blog In Audio:

Greetings,

The wisdom of God is not like the wisdom of the world. It is a wisdom of faith, not a wisdom based upon human thoughts or desires. As leaders in the body of Christ, we are called to lead others into the path of God’s wisdom in life.

James 3:13 Who is wise and understanding among you? Let him show by good conduct that his works are done in the meekness of wisdom. 14 But if you have bitter envy and self-seeking in your hearts, do not boast and lie against the truth. 15 This wisdom does not descend from above, but is earthly, sensual, demonic. 16 For where envy and self-seeking exist, confusion and every evil thing are there. 17 But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality and without hypocrisy. 18 Now the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace.

The wisdom of God leads us into a path of righteousness. That righteousness is a matter of relationship and not legalistic laws of judgment. It leads us to become givers of life to our world. It is not a path of peace according to our own personal opinions or desires. It is a peace that makes peace for others. That peace is a peace that comes by God’s will and way in our lives. It is a will that comes by faith and not by sight.

The wisdom of God is a meek wisdom; it’s a wisdom that is willing to yield. It is willing to yield from one’s own will to the will of God for each day. It is not defensive concerning what is known from the past but is sensitive to embrace things that have not been seen, heard, or thought before. Wisdom from God doesn’t reject the wisdom of the past but sees the wisdom of yesterday as a foundation for the wisdom of God today. Wisdom from God is the testimony of faith towards Him. Wisdom from God requires an innocent trust in what God says.

Natural human wisdom is very often an enemy to the wisdom of God in our lives. Natural wisdom is based upon human will and human will can come in the form of self-will or the will of others. It is self-preserving in nature and is based upon personal desires motivated by fear. I believe the sons of the daughters of Lot depict these two types of wisdom. These children were the testimony of a fear of no future and therefore embraced a carnal fulfillment.

Genesis 19:36 Thus both the daughters of Lot were with child by their father. 37 The firstborn bore a son and called his name Moab; he is the father of the Moabites to this day. 38 And the younger, she also bore a son and called his name Ben-Ammi; he is the father of the people of Ammon to this day.

Wisdom involves moving into the future, and in the story of Lot and his daughters, there was a fear of no future, thus there was a pursuing of the future through carnal human ways. One bore a son that was a seed unto himself and the other bore a son that signified the will of a tribe, or a people. Either of these create a world that seeks a testimony of personal needs and the fulfillment of such.

Jesus didn’t come into our world to merely meet our needs. He came to transform our hearts and minds to live as sons and daughters of God. We are in the world, but we are not of the world. We don’t embrace the ways of the world, but we pray for the world. We pray for those in our world that those in our world will find wisdom that comes from God for the sake of all in our world. God desires all men to know the power of His saving grace.

1 Timothy 2:1 Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, 2 for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence. 3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, 4 who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.

We are to be those who live by a relationship with God and the testimony of His love. We pray for God’s peace in the midst of every worldly trouble. Our wisdom comes from God, and it is not a wisdom that comes through human protest, but a wisdom that makes peace by seeking the presence of God in all things. It is not an earthly, self-seeking, demonic inspiration. It is a willingness to seek God and yield to Him and His will in all things.
