Empowered by God’s Spirit

Blog In Audio:

Greetings,

We have been invited by God to actively participate in His plan and purpose in the earth. We were born into a world filled with people who live to fulfill their self-focused desires, but we were born again into a God-focused reality. We live to please God in all things because He is already pleased to call us His children. We are not motivated by some form of guilt or condemnation that tells our hearts we must earn God’s love. We are motivated by faith! We hear God in our hearts because He is our Father and He loves us. This inspires us from within to live for Him in all things!

As leaders, we are not called to lead others in various forms of Christian ministry. We are called to lead others into the reality of knowing Christ in their humanity so they can walk in the power of God’s life-giving authority in their world. We are empowered by God’s Spirit to live in our natural world in a spiritual way. We are to be spiritually empowered to bring life to all in our path of destiny in this world. We must therefore understand how to live in the power of our authority in Christ.

2 Corinthians 10:3 For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. 4 For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, 5 casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, 6 and being ready to punish all disobedience when your obedience is fulfilled.

The authority over the earth was given to mankind by God. Man is to be fruitful, multiply, fill, subdue, and have dominion in life. This is not merely a generic commission. It is specific and unique for each of us. We live in this natural world in a body of flesh, but we are commissioned by God to live in our natural world in a spiritual way. Without the presence of God’s Spirit in us, upon us, and with us we will not be able to subdue or to have dominion in life. We can be fruitful, multiply, and fill our world in a certain way, but the testimony of our lives will lack the authority to subdue and have dominion.

I believe that to subdue is to destroy death with life. To have dominion is to crumble every lie with truth. The powers of darkness in our world need the power of God’s light in our lives so that our lives can shine for God’s glory by the power of God’s grace. Only the beliefs that come by the light of Christ within us can destroy the beliefs of darkness that have held us in disobedience to an intimacy with God from within.

We have mighty weapons in Christ, but those weapons are not weapons of the flesh. The weapons of Christ in our lives are the power of His Spirit and His Word made real from within us. We have a treasure within us that shines as light to our world from the inside out. Christ is us is the power of God’s love that can cast down every argument and every high thing that exalts itself against a personal intimacy with God. Knowing God in our heart will empower us to know Him in the thoughts of our mind. Our heart is where the beliefs of our lives reside. The beliefs of our heart will inspire the thoughts of our mind. The thoughts of our mind will then further fuel the beliefs of our heart to inspire the actions of our lives.

We are to be obedient to faith, not the natural circumstances of our lives. Faith comes by hearing God in our spirit. When God’s Spirit speaks to our spirit, our spirit speaks to our soul and our soul inspires a change in the attitude and actions of our lives. This is the power of God’s life-giving authority.

What can we do to activate, facilitate, and further release this process in our lives? We must choose to spend personal time in fellowship with the Holy Spirit. We must contemplate the goodness of Jesus our Lord and the greatness of our Father in heaven. His Word, His creation, His Spirit, and His people can all stir us up in our relationship with God to become the sons and daughters that God has called us to be. By these we can be empowered in our obedience to the voice of God in our hearts. His grace will destroy all manner of death and we will subdue our world. The boundaries of our lives will reveal the liberty of God’s love and that freedom will expand as we increasingly become givers of life to our world. We will know the truth and the truth will make us free. Every lie will crumble when faced with the truth inspired by God’s love in our hearts. God’s grace working in our lives will become a power of grace by which we can help others find the true freedom of life in Christ. This is another part of walking in the spiritual empowerment of Christ.
