Knowing Who You Are

Blog In Audio:

Greetings,

I have been addressing living in a spiritually empowered path in life. To live in a spiritually empowered path of life, we must live in and from the presence of God. We must live from the place of wells, as we saw in the story of Elisha when he resided in Dothan. From the place of God’s presence, he knew that there were more with him than those who were with any enemy that would come against Him. When we know God’s presence in our lives, we know God protection and favor in our lives.

When we know God’s presence, we become increasingly clothed in His presence. His presence in our lives is the testimony of His grace transforming us. God is life and He changes us by the power of His life to become life to our world.

To walk in the path of spiritual empowerment, we must understand our warfare and our armor for that warfare. We are not defending ourselves against the devil or any force of darkness. Spiritual powers of darkness seek to defend themselves against us. We are clothed in the sevenfold perfecting grace of the Holy Spirit in our lives to dispossess every form of darkness in the territory of our standing in life.

To walk in the spiritually empowered path in life we must understand our authority in Christ. That authority will be seen in our part of the fulness of Jesus in the testimony of His Bride – the Body of Christ. Paul wrote of these things in the book of Ephesians, and we see a great revelation in his opening prayer for the church of Ephesus.

Ephesians 1:18-23 … the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, and what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power which He worked in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places, far above all principality and power and might and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in that which is to come. And He put all things under His feet, and gave Him to be head over all things to the church, which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills all in all.

These verses reveal that for each of us our authority to bring life to our world is found in the calling of Christ, the inheritance of Christ, and the power of Christ. I believe we could synonymously describe them as the place of our identity, testimony, and purpose in Christ. These are not about our calling, our inheritance, or our own power of purpose. These three things are unique for each of us in scope of the general will of God. We must each find our part and role in these things to know the power of our authority. In the past thirty years, I have consistently grown in knowing who I am in these things. I share these now, only to inspire each of you to grow in being able to articulate your own identity, testimony, and purpose for the sake of understanding your authority in Christ.

God wants us to live by faith and not by natural sight. Faith comes by hearing God speak to our hearts. God wants us to respond to all that He reveals and to become transformed by what He reveals. God wants us to live for the generations. These things are part of the calling of Christ, and I believe I have a unique role in these things.

The calling of Christ will reveal the works of God in the earth that will destroy every work of the devil. The calling of Christ is where we find our identity. I am growing to know who I am in the calling of Christ. By faith, I hear what others cannot hear. I have a gift of faith – I am a gift of faith to the body of Christ to help others hear God within their hearts. I willingly respond to what others cannot respond to. That response is a desire to change, a desire to be changed from the inside out. In this, I have a gift of passion – I am a gift passion for the sake of inspiring others to embrace the path of life and freedom found in Christ over the comfort zones of settling for something less than what God desires for today. I see things through a generational mindset. I am a gift that releases destiny in the body of Christ.

What is my part in the inheritance of Christ? The inheritance of Christ is filled with innumerable testimonies of His life. My part is to expose false walls and to activate a pursuit of truth in the lives of those who see that what they thought was a wall become an opportunity to move beyond what they thought to be truth. They become inspired to willingly respond to moving forward in God’s grace

What is my part in the power and purpose of Christ? I bring New Covenant Life and Grace to barren places to make them fruitful testimonies of God’s life-giving realities. For me, this is predominately in the barren places of the church.

What is your identity in the calling of Christ? What is your testimony in the inheritance of Christ? What is your purpose in the power of Christ. These things are revealed in Him, and the evidence is seen in the fruit of your life that brings life to others. Leaders must grow in knowing these things and they must lead others to do the same.

I am a gift of God that God has given so that others can hear what they could not hear, move forward where they could not do so before, and see what they could not see before in a generational way.
