Another Measure in the Path

NEW!   Audio Version of Blog –

      Greetings,

We are in a season of navigation. We are navigating the path that God is setting before us that is a path of destiny in Christ. Navigation involves finding the hidden paths for us in our course of destiny given to us by God. We are not solitary individuals with a mandate to prove how successful we can be in our spiritual discernment or enlightened minds. We are only another generation in the path of destiny for the family of God made known among men by God. We cannot create new things that are disconnected from the old things and think they will produce a deeper measure in the river of God in the earth.

Ezekiel 47:3 And when the man went out to the east with the line in his hand, he measured one thousand cubits, and he brought me through the waters; the water came up to my ankles. 4  Again he measured one thousand and brought me through the waters; the water came up to my knees.  Again he measured one thousand and brought me through; the water came up to my waist. 5 Again he measured one thousand, and it was a river that I could not cross; for the water was too deep, water in which one must swim, a river that could not be crossed.

Each measurement in the river of God is a further measure from the past. It is not disconnected from the past. We are in another measure of God’s grace working in the earth for the glory of His name. The mountain of God is growing in the nations as the kingdoms of men are becoming kingdoms of their Lord and Christ. That mountain is made of many stones that build upon one another to become something greater today than was in the past.  Jesus is the Lord and His body is the place of His Spirit. Christ in us is the hope of glory. Christ in us is the hope of becoming all that we are meant to be in this world and in all that is to come. God wants us to find our identity, our testimony, and our purpose in Him. The path of today is not disconnected from the path of the past. It is a furtherance in the journey of God’s grace working among mankind. We cannot despise the things of the past and expect to receive a furtherance of the grace given to us thus far in Christ. We are not smarter than our parents or our grandparents. We are simply another generation in the path of humanity in Christ. When we think we are better than, or smarter than, those in the past; we forget the lessons given to us. Secret things belong to God, but when they are given to us, they then belong to our children and our children’s children. This is only true for those children who value the secrets given as treasures to be expanded upon. They are not things to be rejected, but treasures to be received in order to reveal even more treasures in the earth for the generations to come.

Deuteronomy 29:29 “The secret things belong to the Lord our God, but those things which are revealed belong to us and to our children forever, that we may do all the words of this law.

When I got married, I wore that latest in wedding attire, but if I look at those wedding pictures today, the clothing looks funny and the style looks foolish. We must remember that what is cutting edge today will look foolish to the generation of tomorrow, but there is nothing new under the sun. We need the revelation of today in order to come to the revelation of tomorrow. When we see the revelation being given today, we must understand that it is not better than the revelation of the past. It is simply more. Not more as in that which has finally arrived, but more in that it is simply more footsteps in the same connected path of destiny. For this reason, we must be careful to never be “anti” what was, thinking that what is today is better than what was in the past. We must embrace “what was” in new ways. If we disconnect from the path given to us in the inheritance of Christ, we disconnect from the inheritance of Christ. We then end up doing new things thinking they are the revolutionary thing for God’s glory, but God’s glory is always connected to the glory of the past. New things without a connection to the old things of the past are simply the same old things all over again. We do new things thinking they are new, but they are simply old things in new ways. This is often the path in the church and thus there is not a third and fourth generation that leads to the permanent changes made in the earth by the rising mountain of Christ.

Thank you, God, for the treasure of the just living by faith, the increasing glory of works that testify of our faith, the furtherance of heavenly testimonies inside and out that cannot be denied as heavenly realities for Your story among men. Thank you, God, for another measure in the authority of the laying on of hands and the ministry of Y  our life-giving authority in true body life. Thank you, Lord, for an increase in hearing Your word in our hearts, declaring Your word through our mouths, and experiencing Your manifest presence in undeniable ways in our midst. Thank you, God, for Your unconditional love and Your unstoppable transformation that is increasingly made known by the power of Your love at work in and through our lives. Help us find another measure in Your path of destiny for the glory of Your name in the generations of men! Help us to not reject the inheritances of the past but to value them and to advance them even further in the path of Christ.

Fathers, Mothers, and Leaders in our Path

    Greetings,

I believe that this is a season to navigate a course of intimate faith with God. In this, we become vulnerable and shapeable in responding to Him. Leaders set an example in the faith. That example is one of hearing God’s word, responding, and being transformed to become something of the word of God in our lives. As leaders we must not only set an example to those we lead, we must activate, facilitate, and release others to become all that they are to be in Christ. We are not just those who know the word of God, we must become examples of the word of God to those we lead. We must become expressions of God’s word that will activate God’s personal voice in the hearts of those we lead.

1 Timothy 4:12 Let no one despise your youth, but be an example to the believers in word, in conduct, in love, in spirit, in faith, in purity.

Paul was not merely telling Timothy to be someone who was instructed in the word of God, but to become an example of the word of God. Every revelation from God is an invitation to have an encounter with God so that we will be transformed by Him to become a testimony of a revelation of God to those around us.

When God has expressed something, it is considered to be the logos (word) of God. The Scriptures are logos (word) of God, but so is leadership to be a testimony of an expression of God. Jesus was the very expression (Word) of God in flesh. The word of God is meant to pierce through the soul to the place where God speaks. The Holy Spirit within agrees with anything that has been expressed by God and when we are pierced through by an expression of God, the voice of the Holy Spirit brings life to the human spirit in the human heart.

Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

In finding our path in Christ we must seek to hear God in new ways, but we must know that God’s direction for tomorrow is also revealed in the path of others before us. We need to look to those in our lives who can activate the voice of God within our own hearts. These are the testimonies of fathers and mothers in the faith. Leaders are to be expressions of God to those they lead in order to activate the voice of God within the heart of each believer. Scripture is logos (word). Fathers, mothers, leaders, as well as maturing believers, are to be expressions of God (logos) as well. Their lives should pierce through the souls of those they influence to the very Spirit of God within their spirits, causing the voice of God to be activated within them. Fathers, mothers, and various kinds of leading influences are not the voice of God to our lives. This is Old Covenant. Those relationally connected to our path of destiny only serve to activate the voice of God within our hearts. This is New Covenant.

The Old Covenant brought control and bondage, but the New Covenant brings life and liberty. It’s the manifest presence of God that brings liberty. As leaders we must lead in a way that the voice of God brings the liberty of God’s presence in the lives of those we lead. We cannot hear God for people and expect them to simply remember what we have said. We cannot teach law, present Biblical rules, propose Biblical principles, or enforce any form of covenant that holds people to the words or experiences of the past. This is a covenant that is read. It is a covenant that is remembered. A veil remains on this type of covenant for it is an Old Covenant of bondage and control. Only the New Covenant of the life of Christ within can bring the life and liberty of God. Only the New Covenant brings increasing and lasting change from within the human heart.

2 Corinthians 3:12-15 Therefore, since we have such hope, we use great boldness of speech— unlike Moses, who put a veil over his face so that the children of Israel could not look steadily at the end of what was passing away. But their minds were blinded. For until this day the same veil remains unlifted in the reading of the Old Testament, because the veil is taken away in Christ. But even to this day, when Moses is read, a veil lies on their heart.

It is only when one turns to the Lord in their hearts that the veil can be removed. We cannot teach people to know God, knowing God is a personal revelation discovered within the heart. It is there that true change is brought about in and through the believer. Fathers, mothers, and leading influences are essential to our own hearing of God in our hearts. We cannot disconnect from the ancient path given to us, but we must hear what they heard in our own hearts so we can also hear for the sake of those who follow us in the path of destiny in Christ.

2 Corinthians 3:16-18 Nevertheless when one turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away. Now the Lord is the Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.

Christ in each believer is the hope of glory (Col. 1:27). Hearing God in our hearts must be fresh and new, but it is also a part of an ancient path given to us in Christ.

When Things Shake

      Greetings,

God is doing something in the earth. When the earth shakes, it means that something of the unshakeable kingdom of Christ is manifesting. I don’t believe that the devil causes the world to shake. I believe that when truth manifests it crumbles every lie. The shaking is the crumbling of the lies. Christ is the Rock, and when the Rock manifests all other rocks shake!

Hebrews 12:25 See that you do not refuse Him who speaks. For if they did not escape who refused Him who spoke on earth, much more shall we not escape if we turn away from Him who speaks from heaven, 26 whose voice then shook the earth; but now He has promised, saying, “Yet once more I shake not only the earth, but also heaven.” 27 Now this, “Yet once more,” indicates the removal of those things that are being shaken, as of things that are made, that the things which cannot be shaken may remain. 28 Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom which cannot be shaken, let us have grace, by which we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear. 29 For our God is a consuming fire.

To find the path that God has for us we must hear Him. He speaks to our hearts, but He uses other forms of His expressed word to activate His word being expressed in our hearts. He uses His expressed word in Scripture to activate His voice in our hearts. He uses His expressed word in human lives. When manifestly see something that God has expressed it is considered to be the logos (word) of God. The Scriptures are logos (word) of God, but so are fathers and mothers in the faith. God-sent leaders are sent to us as expression of God. Jesus was the very expression (Word) of God in flesh, but God also joins us to people in Christ who are becoming an increasing expression of God’s word for our sake. As leaders, He is making us to be expressions of His word for the sake of those we are sent to lead. Leaders are an expressed word of Christ to activate, facilitate, and release everyone to increasingly become an expressed word of Christ.

Leaders are not an expression of God’s word for us to follow in an Old Covenant way. They are expressions of God’s word to activate us to also become expressions of God’s word in our lives. Any expression of God that can be read is the word of God – the logos of God. The word of God is meant to pierce through the soul to the place where God speaks. God does not speak to our soul; He speaks to our spirit. Our soul will be vulnerable to other external spiritual influences if we do not position our souls to see that which God has already expressed. The Holy Spirit within agrees with anything that has been expressed by God and when we are pierced through by an expression of God, the voice of the Holy Spirit brings life to the human spirit in the human heart within.

Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

Leaders are to be expressions of God to those they lead in order to activate the voice of God within the heart of each believer. Scripture is logos (word). Leadership and maturing believers are to be expressions of God (logos) as well. Their lives should pierce through the souls of those they influence to the very Spirit of God within their spirits, causing the voice of God to be activated within them. Leaders are not the voice of God to the people. This is Old Covenant. Leaders only serve to activate the voice of God within the hearts of those they lead. This is New Covenant.

The Connected Path

      Greetings,

Our path in life is meant to be one of calling, inheritance, and purpose. I believe that the place of our calling is the place of our identity. Our calling is not a calling of humanity as independent individuals seeking for life. Our calling is to find our identity in the calling of Christ. It is a calling in the family name. Who are we in the corporate testimony of Christ? The path that God has for us is one that reveals the testimony of our Father’s kingdom influence and our Father’s will being done in the earth as it is in heaven. Our future is connected to others. It is connected to others in our past in the path set before us and it is connected to those who will follow our footsteps in our destiny in Christ. As leaders we must set an example that other can follow in this path of calling. When we find our place in the calling of Christ, we begin to reveal our part in the inheritance in Christ. Inheritance is not something we get from our parents to spend. It something given to us to expand in the earth for the benefit of the word that we influence. I believe that another word for inheritance can be testimony. Our testimony is not a testimony of self, but a testimony of the power of Christ in us. The power of Christ in us is not meant to simply benefit us, it is meant to benefit the world around us. We are given a part in the testimony of Christ to expand the life of Christ in the world that is given to us. It is part of a generational path that invades the earth with heaven’s grace. We are not simply on a journey to get to heaven when we die. We are on a path to bring the influence of heaven into the earth that will expand in the generations that follow.

When we find our part in the inheritance of Christ, the testimony of Christ, we begin to find ourselves in the influencing power of Christ. The power of Christ in and through our lives is meant to change names in the earth. Names are places of character, nature, way, power, and authority. Our part in the power of Christ is an influence that is above principalities, powers, thrones, dominions, and names. It is an influence that changes names. It changes dominions. It changes thrones, powers, and ultimately principalities. The first things of darkness, the normal responses of darkness, become transformed by first things of light and it creates new normal or first responses in the earth. These are new realities of life in the earth that come by the transforming power of Christ. This is the ultimate destiny and purpose of our path in life. Our path in life is a path of who we are in Christ. It is who we are in the family identity, testimony, and purpose in all things. To find this path we must apply our heart to instruction. We must listen to words of knowledge.

Proverbs 23:12 Apply your heart to instruction, and your ears to words of knowledge.

To be a good leader, we must first be a good follower. Our path is a path of destiny. Thus, we must learn and listen to the voice of God in the place that was, that is, and will be. We must also seek to pass on the wisdom and knowledge of the past to the generations beyond us. We must live for the future generations of the calling, inheritance, and destiny in Christ.

Proverbs 23:13 Do not withhold correction from a child, for if you beat him with a rod, he will not die. 14 You shall beat him with a rod, and deliver his soul from hell. 15 My son, if your heart is wise, my heart will rejoice—indeed, I myself; 16 Yes, my inmost being will rejoice when your lips speak right things.

This is not an abusive beating, but the discipline of love. There is pain in the discipline, but it is not a pain unto death. It is the sacrificial pain of someone who loves and wants to give the full inheritance of all that is in the family tree. It produces the fruit of a right relationship of love.

Hebrews 12:11 Now no chastening seems to be joyful for the present, but grievous; nevertheless, afterward it yields the peaceable fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it.

The rod of correction is not a rod of merely teaching right and wrong. It is a discipline of love that grafts the next generation into the spirit of the family tree. It grafts them into the family identity, inheritance, and purpose of destiny.

The word for rod in Proverbs 23:13 is the Strong’s reference number: 7626 Hebrew: shebet Definition: a scion, i.e. (lit.) a stick (for punishing, writing, fighting, ruling, walking, etc.) or (fig.) a clan (tribe). The šêḇeṭ is a grafting stick, like is used in the process of grafting in a tree. I have an apple tree that I planted in the year 2000 and it has six grafted branches. God told me to plant the tree and that the six grafts represent the kind of church that He wants. Six is the number of man and God’s church is both Spirit and human. It is a place of connection of God with man where God reveals who He is through diverse expressions of humanity. Each branch on my tree produces a different kind of fruit. On my tree there are red apples, green apples, yellow apples, and many combinations of diversity in the fruit of apples. There is one tree, one root, and one life-flowing sap in the tree, but there are six branches with unique fruit on each branch. This is the same principle that is revealed in this Scripture of Proverbs 13:24. Each of the branches on my grafted tree were a šêḇeṭbefore they became a fruit bearing branch. The mature branches today are the fruit of the pain of grafting to the parent tree. The grafted branches represent the future fruit of the tree and they are the grafted branches into the life that comes from the roots of the family tree. The nutrients of life to the roots of the tree have to become the same source of life to the very end of the branches. When you graft a branch to a tree, you have to first wound the tree. You have to find a tender branch on the old tree, and you have to see the need to embrace the pain for grafting a branch that is different in its destiny to the roots of the inheritance of the tree. If a parent enjoys giving discipline to their children, they have not found a tender branch on the tree. They have to become tender in order to empower the child to be tender in their connection to the love that is being given through the parent. If the discipline doesn’t hurt the parent, something is lacking and there will not be a grafting. If there is not pain for the child, something is lacking and there will not be a grafting of the branch to the inheritance of the tree. The pain is the testimony of love. Without the pain, something is lacking in the love. The pain is not the pain of abuse, it is the pain of love. You cannot destroy the diversity of fruit intended to be manifest in the branches of tomorrow, but you must also see that it is essential that the branch finds its life in the roots of the tree. What the parents have the children need and who the children are is essential to become a family that is new in the generations to come.

A Further Measure

        Greetings,

The path of God for your life is hidden in heaven for you and when you find it, it will take your where you need to go. The path of God will take you where you need to go but you are going have to find the path of God. His path will take you where you need to go to be who you really are. God’s path will draw out of you the greatness of who you really are for the sake of your world that is trying to change who you are. For the sake of the environment around you that needs to change because of you. You must find your path that leads to your destiny in Christ.

In our path of inheritance there is a foundation of the past. The church is built upon the foundation of the prophets and the apostles. It is built upon the ceiling of the Old Covenant prophets and the foundation of the New Covenant apostles. This is true for those who were part of the Law and those who simply had the voice of human conscience. Both the Law and the human conscience were simply tutors calling for the day when Jesus would make a way for humanity to live in a grace empowered relationship with God in their hearts. That was the finish of the Old Covenant and the open door for a New and Living Covenant for each and every man and woman among the human race.

Ephesians 2:19 Now, therefore, you are no longer strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God, 20 having been built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ Himself being the chief cornerstone, 21 in whom the whole building, being fitted together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord, 22 in whom you also are being built together for a dwelling place of God in the Spirit.

God does not see two different plans in the destiny of the human race. He does not see an Old Covenant and a New Covenant plan. He sees one plan made real by the power of His love for all mankind. There has always been one plan. Jesus was the Lamb slain before the foundations of the world were laid. People in the Old Covenant were actually saved through Jesus to get into heaven, but their actions in the earth could never really bring heaven into their families. God wanted to empower a dwelling place for His Spirit in the earth. This is the good news of the New Covenant. The New Covenant is a perpetual reality of a NOW relationship with God in all things and at all times. That NOW experience with God is not disconnected from the NOW experiences of the past. Wisdom will bring us to the future, but the understanding of today is connected to the wisdom and knowledge of the past.

We are part of something new, yet ancient. All that we walk in is a testimony to the foundations of our past. The foundation of the New Testament church was built upon the ceiling of the Old Testament prophets. The foundation of the New Testament apostles established a firstfruit ceiling for all that would follow in the New Covenant. The ceiling of each generation is meant to be the floor for the generation that follows. Everything is connected!

Accepting responsibility today means that we accept responsibility for tomorrow. We must acknowledge that we are the head of something, and we must become a place that opens the door to things new and things old. We have a responsibility of allowing the Holy Spirit to draw into our house a treasure of things that have never been seen, heard, or thought before as well as a full testimony of destiny to things that are even antique before our time. We must allow the Holy Spirit to give meaning to the testimony of our family name. God wants for us to have a name that gives glory to Him and it is meant to be a name the reveals our days to be long in the earth.

Matthew 13:52 Then He said to them, “Therefore every scribe instructed concerning the kingdom of heaven is like a householder who brings out of his treasure things new and old.”

Our path in life is connected to who we are in life and who we are is connected to who others have been before us. The will of God doesn’t come from what we want to do or what we think God wants us to do. It is found in the continuity of our lives. Wisdom, the direction to the future, is connected to who we are. We are the will of God and the things we do in life are connected to who we have become because of the foundations and the ceilings of the past. Our lives are like a highway and our lives are meant to go somewhere in God for the sake of others and for the will of our heavenly Father.

Do Not Remove The Ancient Landmarks

    Greetings;

So much of the church is longing for the day of Jesus’ return, but I believe that our aim in life must be for His continual return. Holy Spirit has come in the name of Jesus. He manifests the character, nature, way, power, and authority in our lives as individuals and in the life of the corporate church in the earth as the body of Christ.  Jesus’ is revealing Himself as the one who stands in the midst of His Church at all times (Rev. 1). His prophetic testimony is a testimony of life that continues to mature and advance in the generations of men. We are the bride of Christ and the Holy Spirit lives within us. The cry of the bride and the cry of the Holy Spirit are for Jesus to come (Rev. 22:17). This is not just an event in the coming future, but a continual reality of Christ’s manifest presence in the advancing generations of men. We are living in administration that is suitable for the summing up of all things in Christ and there is a continual increase of glory to the fullness of the summing up of all things in Him (Eph. 1:10).

When we embrace the continual increase of Christ’s presence in our lives, we find ourselves living for the sake of the generations. We find ourselves living for the purpose of Christ in all things. This is more powerful than merely living to have a successful life. There is a difference between being a successful person and a significant one. One can be successful in life and only accomplish things that can be measured in his or her life, but true significance is to make an impact upon others. When we equip others, we find that the testimony of all that God has given to us becomes a testimony in the generations of tomorrow. I believe that the heart of leadership in the church must be the heart of a father. Fathers live to raise up sons (men and women) that can carry the vision of today as a dream for tomorrow. A father seeks to put responsibility in the hands of the next generation. A father takes the secrets that he has received from God and gives them as an inheritance to his children and his children’s children.

Deuteronomy 29:29 “The secret things belong to the LORD our God, but those things which are revealed belong to us and to our children forever, that we may do all the words of this law.”

When the secret things of God are revealed, they become landmarks in the course of destiny in a multi-generational destiny. Those landmarks mark the path of human calling, inheritance, and destiny in God’s eternal plan made real in Christ.

Proverbs 1: 8 My son, hear the instruction of your father, and do not forsake the law of your mother; 9 For they will be a graceful ornament on your head, and chains about your neck.

Proverbs 6: 20 My son, keep your father’s command, and do not forsake the law of your mother. 21 Bind them continually upon your heart; Tie them around your neck.

We must embrace the landmarks set by God’s work in the lives who those who have gone before us. They are part of our foundation in our destiny in Christ. We should put all of our focus on being pro-Christ. We don’t need to be anti-religion, anti-church, anti-wrong, anti-death, or any other “anti” expression. If we focus on what Christ is doing, the life of Christ will transform religion, the church, all wrong, death, and all things.

A key to moving forward as a multigenerational society is to value the teachings of our fathers in our hearts. What is in our hearts will be seen though the influence and vision of our lives. God said that the Holy Spirit would cause young men to have vision and old men to dream dreams (Acts 2:7). This is the opposite of the cultures of the world. In the world young people dream and old people have vision. God wants the young to have vision and the old to dream dreams. It is only when the values of the past become the fuel for vision of the present that the dreams of the past can become the vision of today. There must be a joining of the generations. When this happens the old must embrace the vision of the young and the young must embrace the dream of the old. It is the testimony of a father led culture that leads to increasing life. A father led culture lives for the raising up of sons who will overcome all things for a greater glory than what has been in the past. It is a multi-generational mindset. It is not limited to men; it is the testimony of inheritance as sons.

Galatians 3:26 For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus. 27 For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ. 28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus. 29 And if you are Christ’s, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.

Food For Thought,

The Past Has Led To Today

      Greetings;

The good news preached to Abraham was that in blessing God would bless him, in multiplying God would multiply him, his descendants would possess the gates of their enemies, and through his seed all the families of the earth would be blessed. It was a Father’s blessing to a father’s destiny. It was multigenerational in its intent.

This commission was also seen in the foundation set by the apostles in the first century church. The apostles were fathers in the faith, not mere mentors of Christian principles and activities. Their testimony was built upon the ceiling of the prophets of the Old Covenant. They had a covenantal foundation in their understanding that was rooted in the judgments, statutes, commandments and ways of God established in the past.

Timothy 2:1 You therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus.  2 And the things that you have heard from me among many witnesses, commit these to faithful men who will be able to teach others also. The objective was to advance the testimony of the kingdom of God to Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria, and the ends of the earth. God’s culture is an advancing culture of life to the nations. His heart in the now is always a furtherance of what was and a testimony of what will be. God’s house is built with wisdom and wisdom always implies a way to the future.

How do we attach to the things of the past with the revelation of the present? We cannot be bound to the past; we must be thrust forward because of it. It is wisdom that will keep us in the path of destiny, but where do we find wisdom?

Proverbs 1:20, 21 Wisdom calls aloud outside; she raises her voice in the open squares. 21 She cries out in the chief concourses, at the openings of the gates in the city she speaks her words…

The New American Standard Bible uses the word street for outside. In these verses we see that wisdom is found in the street, in the open squares, in the chief concourses, and in the gates of the city. To understand these four things, we must compare them to four small creatures described by Solomon in Proverbs chapter 30.

Proverbs 30:24-28 There are four things which are little on the earth, but they are exceedingly wise: The ants are a people not strong, yet they prepare their food in the summer; The rock badgers are a feeble folk, yet they make their homes in the crags; The locusts have no king, yet they all advance in ranks; The spider (or lizard) skillfully grasps with its hands, and it is in kings’ palaces.

Wisdom is in the street; it is like an ant. The ant knows what season it is; it knows where it is in life by where it is in the journey of life. Is it winter? Is it summer? It doesn’t need to be told by a commander; it knows where it is in the journey of life. What time is it? What is necessary today? There will be more to do tomorrow, but what is the present season of life? We cannot understand the season of today without first understanding the seasons of the past. The seasons of the past are what brought us to the season of today. The things that are necessary today are connected to the things that have led to this moment from the past. The things that are necessary today are also connected to the things that will be for the sake of others tomorrow. To know what can be true today we have to know what has been true from our past. That is not just our past, but our multigenerational past in the journey of Christ’s destiny.

Wisdom raises here voice in the open squares; it is like a rock badger in its quest to live. Though the rock badger is small and not considerably strong, it uses its natural environment to get its foods. It builds its home in the crags of the rocks and uses its house as a place of protection and a way of surprising its prey to sustain itself in life. What in the open squares of my life leads to the destiny of God’s glory? What is obviously around me and can serve me in my role in the destiny of life? Some of the obvious things are the things that have been established in our surroundings by the work of others.

Wisdom cries out in the chief concourses; it is like the locust. The locust realizes that if it lives in close relationship with other locusts it can do impossible things. What relationships are in my life? How do those relationships serve the purpose of who I am. Who am I joined to? My direction forward is connected to the relationships given to me in life. My relationships in life are part of my inheritance in life. Those relationships are meant to lead to others even as Paul told Timothy to find faithful men who would be able to teach others also.

What are the things that we inherit? What is it that we must advance in the generations of men? The instructions of our fathers and the principals, patterns, and values are the substance of inheritance to the future. Cultures and societies of the world reject the instructions of their fathers and the substance given them by their mothers. They think themselves to be wiser than the past. Wisdom is not found in the past; it is found in the things that are being given to us by God in heaven. Wisdom is not found in the past, but the instructions, principles, patterns, and values of the past set a foundation for our hearing wisdom today.

Living For The Father’s Will

    Greetings;

We are in a season of navigation as believers in Christ. God has a path for us to find that is His path and it is found through His ways. Finding that path is like navigating the hidden paths of the sea by discovering the secrets to the trade winds or finding the seas hidden channels within. It is like maneuvering the sky by discovering the jet streams hidden within the atmosphere. God’s paths are hidden mysteries for those who seek intimacy with God. The slothful never find them, but the heart passionate, diligent seeker finds God’s hidden truth. The secret to finding God’s paths is to be changed in our hearts and minds by God’s ways. When God transforms our hearts and minds to embrace His ways, we discover His paths to the road of our destiny in Christ. The present is not disconnected from the past and the future is not disconnected from today. We must find our part in His calling, His inheritance, and the power of His course of destiny for our lives. God has an eternal plan and our today is connected to the today of men and women of the past.

Proverbs 23:22 Listen to your father who begot you, and do not despise your mother when she is old. 23 Buy the truth, and do not sell it, also wisdom and instruction and understanding.

As I stated last week; God is truly our Father who birthed us into our path of destiny, but we have also had men and woman of faith who have set a path, a boundary wall, and a measure of rule for us to connect to and expand in the earth. Truly God, the Holy Spirit, is a mother to us in birthing our way, but the church as she has been empowered by the Holy Spirit in the past has also a mother to the substance of what we are for the sake of expanding the family name.

The kingdom of God is a Father led culture facilitated by the giving nature of fathers and mothers who seek to raise up sons and daughters who live for the Father’s will.  A husband and wife are co-partners for their heavenly Father’s will. It is a matter of inheritance. We live in a world where the identity of fathers has been marred and eroded to become something less than what God has in mind. As a matter of fact, the cultures of the world seek to either destroy the image of a true father or despise that image. The kingdoms of the world create images of a father as an abuser or as an idiot. There is a spiritual attack against the image of a father. These worldly ways have affected our ability to find God’s heavenly paths. God is our Father, and as Father He is the one who gives identity and inheritance to sons. When we receive a proper view God as our Father, we view the world though a concept of what is, what was, and what will be. We no longer live for our generation alone, but for the joining of generations in our lives. Our vision becomes one that looks to what is, what was, and what is to come. This is not only a New Covenant reality; it is a testimony of generationally minded people. In Christ we are all joined to a family destiny that is both ancient and new. It is true for all peoples, nations, tribes, and tongues of men.

In order to live to the fullest potential of the kingdom of God we must stay connected to the authority of God’s kingdom. Our destiny has been established upon the foundation of all that was in the Old Covenant (the Old Testament prophets), and all the foundation of what was established in the firstfruits of the New Covenant (the New Testament apostles). It is from that foundation that we can find the path of God in our lives today.

A father-led culture is one that knows that the authority, inheritance, and destiny of the fathers of the past are to be expanded upon through the fathers of our own generation. It is God’s intention that we stay connected to increasing authority, connected to increasing inheritance, and connected to unfolding destiny. We must know who sent us for such a time as this. What letter endorses who we are? What commission has been given to us? We are part of a culture that is both new and ancient in its purpose and plan.

Matthew 13:52 Then He said to them, “Therefore every scribe instructed concerning the kingdom of heaven is like a householder who brings out of his treasure things new and old.”

A scribe in the kingdom of God is someone who accepts responsibility for life in a generational way and allows God to write upon his or her own heart and mind in a multigenerational way. Embracing this understanding and focus in life will further the purposes of God in the earth. The purposes of God were given for God as a Father to an earthly father – Abraham, whose name meant, father of many nations.

Genesis 22:17 …blessing I will bless you, and multiplying I will multiply your descendants as the stars of the heaven and as the sand which is on the seashore; and your descendants shall possess the gate of their enemies.  18 In your seed all the nations of the earth shall be blessed, because you have obeyed My voice.”

God was to be the Father of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and Israel. He was to be the Father of Paul, Timothy, faithful men, and others also. This is the progression of blessing, multiplication, possessing, and influence. Without this, the ways of the world influence us and we end up in some path of our own and we fall short of our destiny in Christ.

Things Ancient and Things New

    Greetings;

We are in a season of discovering things that have never been seen, heard, or thought before. We are also in a season of embracing the things of value that set our course of destiny from the place of inheritance and destiny. In finding the path that connects the past to the present and unlocks the doors of the things that are yet to come we must listen to our father and our mother. We must buy truth, wisdom, instruction, and understanding and not sell them.

Proverbs 23:22 Listen to your father who begot you, and do not despise your mother when she is old. 23 Buy the truth, and do not sell it, also wisdom and instruction and understanding.

God is truly our Father who birthed us into our path of destiny, but we have also had men and woman of faith who have set a path, a boundary wall, and a measure of rule for us to connect to and expand in the earth. Truly God, the Holy Spirit, is a mother to us in birthing our way, but the church as she has been empowered by the Holy Spirit in the past has also been a mother to the substance of what we are for the sake of expanding the family name. In finding our path of destiny we must give our hearts to instruction, apply our ears to knowledge, and not reject the correction that keeps us in the path of destiny. As we become fathers and mothers in the faith, we must be faithful to seek to impart the secret things of God to the hearts of our children. We must seek to activate within them a knowledge of the paths of God. We must not withhold correction from a child, for God has set His paths in the earth that lead to the true life of God in all things. Our correction cannot be the correction of law and our liberty cannot be the endorsement of lawlessness. We must seek to aid a generation in discovering what we have found as God-given secrets that rise up as desires within their hearts. When we find the why to the secrets of the past we can discover the how of those secretes in our own lives today.

There are red apples, green apples, yellow apples, and many combinations of diversity in the fruit of apples. There is one tree, one root, and one life-flowing sap in the tree, but there are six branches with unique fruit on each branch. I believe that this is truly the kind of church that God is revealing in the earth at this time. God does not want unity through conformity, He wants unity through diversity. The diversity that God desires is not merely the creativity of human will. It is not a diversity that is independent of authority. Law will produce conformity, a measure of death. Lawlessness will produce disconnection and independence that does not bear the fruit of the family tree. It only seeks the independence of the individual branch. God doesn’t want many trees, He wants one tree. He wants a tree of life that produces life in many wonderful and diverse ways. That tree is a generational tree and not merely a testimony of the strength of branches. It is tree of roots, trunk, branches, leaves, and fruit. The life-giving expressions of the tree are new today, but they find their life source in the roots and body of the past. Things look different, but they are true to the destiny of the ages past.

Holding To The Ancient Landmarks

      Greetings,

This is a year to navigate the path of God set before us that contains the footsteps our heavenly journey of destiny. Our future is always connected to our present, but our present is also connected to the past. Without embracing the past today, we cannot navigate the path of destiny in our lives. We will end up creating our own paths and those paths will lead to something less than our true destiny in Christ. Our own path may seem desirable for a distance, but it will end up centered on our own desires and not the desires of God. God wants to give us the desires of our hearts, but those desires are God’s desires that then become the very fabric of our own hearts. When acknowledge God in all of our ways we give Him the ability to put His passion, His dream, and His vision in our hearts. We end up wanting what God wanted to happen in the path of destiny set before us. We find the antique and lost treasures of the past in the place of vision today. We live wanting what God wants. We find the secret to unlocking new sight, new hearing, and new thoughts that create a path for tomorrow. When this happens, we discover the path of our fathers in the faith. The fathers of faith in our lives set landmarks that lead to the path of destiny.

Proverbs 22: 28 Do not remove the ancient landmark which your fathers have set.

We can only discover the landmarks of the past as truths in our path of today when we seek to apply their secrets in our own hearts. A good leader is a good follower and a good follower becomes a good leader in the path of destiny. If we see ourselves as independent of our fathers before us, we see ourselves as sources of new things alone. New things are a furtherance of a path, but new things in the path of inheritance are greater that new things that only reinvent beginnings that are independent of true inheritance and destiny.

The price of inheritance will carry with it the discipline of being a son, but as the writer of Hebrews declared: If you endure chastening, God deals with you as with sons; for what son is there whom a father does not chasten? (Hebrews 12:7)

What is chastening? We think of chastening as a punishment for being wrong. We believe that the goal of chastening is compliance to some rule of law or some right action in life. True chastening has little to do with right actions or compliance to some form of rule. It has nothing to do with right verses wrong. It has to do with walking in the path of life, the path of inheritance, and the path of destiny. It is about embracing generational identity, inheritance, and destiny that is given to us by God. It is about waking in the path of life where we embrace our own identity in the destiny of the family tree. It is the place of finding the life-sap of the branch from the roots of the tree.

Proverbs 23:12 Apply your heart to instruction, and your ears to words of knowledge. 13 Do not withhold correction from a child, for if you beat him with a rod, he will not die.

The rod in this verse is a grafting branch. It implies pain to the tree and pain to the branch that draws them close to one another, so the life of the tree becomes the life in the branch. Without the life of the tree in the branch there is no inheritance of the tree in the destiny of the branch.

Proverbs 23:22 Listen to your father who begot you, and do not despise your mother when she is old. 23 Buy the truth, and do not sell it, also wisdom and instruction and understanding.

Apply your heart to instruction, apply your ears to knowledge, and don’t reject the correction that keeps you in the path of destiny.
