Human Wisdom and the Wisdom of God

Blog In Audio:

       Greetings,

We are living in a time where the will of self, the will of a special interest group of people, and demonically inspired deceptions are blinding men and women to the truth of the wisdom of God. Wisdom leads us into the future, but only the wisdom of God can lead us into the future that God has destined for us to discover. Surely things that are hidden are manifesting in this present time and there is a war between the will of humanity and the will of God. God is at peace with all that He knows and He has a plan to bring about His will in the earth, but mankind often resists His will by their own preconceived ideas as to what God’s will should be for their lives. They are often willing to exchange the wisdom of God for some human form of wisdom. Human wisdom is earthly, sensual, and demonically influenced and thus it is a wisdom that is not willing to yield to the will of God. It is not humble, teachable, nor willing to change.

James 3:13 Who is wise and understanding among you? Let him show by good conduct that his works are done in the meekness of wisdom. 14 But if you have bitter envy and self-seeking in your hearts, do not boast and lie against the truth. 15 This wisdom does not descend from above, but is earthly, sensual, demonic. 16 For where envy and self-seeking exist, confusion and every evil thing are there. 17 But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality and without hypocrisy. 18 Now the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace.

The wisdom of God is a meek wisdom; it is a wisdom that is willing to yield. It is not defensive concerning what is known from the past but is sensitive to embrace things that have not been seen, heard, or thought before. Wisdom from God requires an innocent trust in what God says. Natural human wisdom is very often an enemy to the wisdom of God in our lives. Natural wisdom is based upon human will and human will can come in the form of self-will or the will of others. I believe the sons of the daughters of Lot depict these two types of wisdom. Wisdom involves moving into the future, and in the story of Lot and his daughters, there was a fear of no future, thus there was a pursuing of the future through carnal human ways.

Genesis 19:30 Then Lot went up out of Zoar and dwelt in the mountains, and his two daughters were with him; for he was afraid to dwell in Zoar. And he and his two daughters dwelt in a cave. 31 Now the firstborn said to the younger, “Our father is old, and there is no man on the earth to come in to us as is the custom of all the earth. 32 Come, let us make our father drink wine, and we will lie with him, that we may preserve the lineage of our father.” 33 So they made their father drink wine that night. And the firstborn went in and lay with her father, and he did not know when she lay down or when she arose. 34 It happened on the next day that the firstborn said to the younger, “Indeed I lay with my father last night; let us make him drink wine tonight also, and you go in and lie with him, that we may preserve the lineage of our father.” 35 Then they made their father drink wine that night also. And the younger arose and lay with him, and he did not know when she lay down or when she arose. 36 Thus both the daughters of Lot were with child by their father. 37 The firstborn bore a son and called his name Moab; he is the father of the Moabites to this day. 38 And the younger, she also bore a son and called his name Ben-Ammi; he is the father of the people of Ammon to this day.

Moab was the son of the oldest daughter of Lot after they fled to the caves at the destruction of Sodom and Gomorra. Ammon was the son of the second daughter. Moab means, seed of the father or specifically – an incestuous seed. Ammon means tribal or the will of the people. These sons were born though actions of natural wisdom. Fear based actions produced two nations that represented the will of self and the will of a people. Neither of these produce the testimony of the will of God. These sons were born from fleeing Zoar. The name Zoar means, insignificance and it was a city at the southeast end of the Dead Sea grouped with Sodom and Gomorrah as being one of the five cities slated for destruction by God; spared at Lot’s plea as his place of refuge. Human wisdom is fear based and it is fueled in its energy through a struggle to find true significance. Just as the city of Zoar was at the lower end of the Dead Sea, so human wisdom is spawned at the dead-end places of death in human thought. In God everyone is significant, but apart from Him we can never find our true significance.

We are living in a time of great significance. The will of self, and/or the will of a people (tribal), are born in a place that has an atmosphere of fleeing things that are insignificant. They were birthed from a place fleeing what was perceived to be insignificant. They were birthed from a space of fear of no future and a lack of understanding true identity. This is a place where there is a fear of no future and thus flesh tries to create a future by mere human will. These two earthly realities open the door to demonic influences, and those spiritual influences of deception war against true self, which is only found in Christ. When we find our true identity in Christ, this is true praise. Just as the name Judah means praise, it is only in God that we can find our true identity and be the praise of God in our lives. True praise comes from a place of faith, hope, and love. It comes from a place of true revelation that God is great, God is good, and His mercy endures forever. To find our significance in Christ, we must live in a place of knowing God is great, God is good, and His mercy endures forever. We must lead by example and inspiration for this cause.
